This is a framed canvas reproduction of an 1895–96 painting by Frederic Leighton.
History & Materials
The story
Leighton worked in his studio for the last time on 22 January 1896 and died three days later, leaving Clytie unfinished. The following day his coffin was placed in the studio, with the painting standing at its head.
